Types of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary cookies
Required for the operation of our website. These essential cookies are always enabled because our site won’t work properly without them.
2. Analytical or performance cookies
These allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and see how visitors move around our website. This helps us improve how our website works, for example by ensuring users find what they’re looking for easily.
- Google Analytics (GA4): Used to count visits and see how pages are read and used. Until you accept cookies it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, so it cannot tell one of your visits from the next; if you accept, it sets its own cookies so it can recognize a returning visitor. Nothing is sent when your browser signals Global Privacy Control.
- Our own reading record: Our public pages record, without cookies, which sections were on screen and for how long, how far down the page you read, and which links you clicked. It keeps no address and no identifier beyond a random code for that page view.
- Our team’s browsers: A cookie set only in a harperOS team member’s browser, when they open a dedicated link, so their own visits are left out of our numbers.
- Shared client documents: The private documents we share with a client, under harperos.ai/clients, count visits and how far each page was read with Google Analytics, with the private part of the link removed and without the page’s headings or link text; unless you accepted cookies on our public site, that count sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. Nothing is sent when your browser signals Global Privacy Control.
3. Advertising cookies
- LinkedIn Insight Tag: Once you accept cookies, our public pages load LinkedIn’s tag, which tells us how visitors who saw our LinkedIn ads use the site and whether they requested a demo. LinkedIn sets its own cookies for this, under its own policy. It never loads before you accept, on the documents we share with clients, or when your browser signals Global Privacy Control.
How to manage cookies
You can set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of this website may become inaccessible or not function properly.
Your choice on our cookie banner is kept in your browser’s own storage, not in a cookie. You can change it any time through Cookie settings at the foot of every page of our public site.

Cookie duration
Session cookies stay on your device only until you close your browser. Persistent cookies are set to automatically expire after a defined duration. Except for essential cookies, every cookie we set expires within 180 days. LinkedIn’s own cookies follow LinkedIn’s policy.
